About Our CollegeWe the Staff and Student of the College, would like to welcome you to our homepage. Hopetoun is situated 400 kilometres north-west of Melbourne in the Southern Mallee farming area Horsham and Swan Hill are the closest regional towns being 120 and 135 kilometres away respectively. The College has an enrolment of 98 students in Years 7-12. These students are drawn from the surrounding communities of Hopetoun, Beulah, Patchewollock, Lascelles and Woomelang. The effects of a prolonged period of drought are having a significant impact on the community. This school has 20 equivalent full time staff. Two principal class, 13 teachers and 5 Education Support staff. Hopetoun Secondary College seeks to educate, nurture and provide opportunities for growth in its students, preparing them to be socially competent, productive citizens and personally happy as they become active, responsible and caring members of society. The College provides an environment that caters for individual student needs and values respect, participation, cooperation, trust and tolerance. We offer strong programs in VCE, VCAL and VET. Our goals are to improve students' personal learning skills, students' pathway planning skills and strengthen student engagement and connectedness to school
